carly's clothes

if you remember, at one of my showers, my small group "made" some clothes for carly. well, they did iron-ons, so they are one of a kind. here's the burp clothes and the ut/um get up. and the socks that look like little mary janes (the socks were not made by small group). and yes, one of the burp cloths says: "if you think i can burp you should hear my mom." i'd say she'll give me some competition, caleb still does.

caleb is funny...

so, our funny little boy.... he's been putting his hands on his hips. we don't know where he picked this up from, but it sure is funny. he did this the other day and when i got the camera, he wouldn't do it again. we tried to coach him to put his hands back on his hips and this is the best we could get. later he wanted to take some pictures on his own. he likes to see himself in the display after the picture is taken. anyhow, he got some this one of himself... pretyy good, huh. check out that booger in his nose, nice caleb! he actually pointed this out when we got the picture from the camera to the computer.

Happy Birthday Grandma

so grandma turns 78 this week and we had a little party for her. gavin (caleb's cousin) had just woke up and was a little sleepy to start. no worries, he warmed up and tore it up with the rest of the little people. here's grandma and papaw with their cake, which was delicious. and then her with 4 of her 5 children: janet, steve, carla, natalie. aunt karen is in portland, not quite driving distance for the party. then we thought it would be fun to put caleb's sunglasses on and take his picture. by the way, he now says cheese for pictures, and asks for his sunglasses every time we get in the car, and they usually end up up-side-down on his face.

this just in... looks like caleb was spotted checking out the cake before hand... that's my boy. in his words: "i need cake"

pre-bday fun!

nathan wanted me to open my bday present tonight, so i did, and it just might be the best present ever! it was our wedding pics! if you don't know, they have been held hostage for several years. a couple was going to look at them to get an idea of what to do with the church for their wedding, and then they disappeared, along with our pictures. we've made several attempts over the years to get them back with no success. i had pretty much settled with the fact that they were gone forever, i kinda figured they had lost them and that's why the run-around. nathan worked pretty hard for the past week, showing up at their house several times and talking with one of their moms, and got them back - that's my dog. unfortunately they smell like a serious ash tray, but the pics are still good and the album is airing out in the garage. we have our wedding pictures!!!!!

so, if you read the post about the baby showers, you know that the first stroller didn't have a rotating front wheel, and therefore, wouldn't fit in my trunk. well, here's caleb helping daddy put that stationary wheel on the stroller, which soon came off and was returned. then today... i got the stroller... nathan put it together... the front wheel turns, and it fits in my trunk... YAY, usable double jogging stroller in my trunk.

Baby Bellies

so, gina and i are having babies... fun story... our dads were bff in high school, and we were born 3 weeks apart and born into bff status. now, we are having babies that are due 3 weeks apart - but, she's having a boy (lucas) so that means they probably won't be bff, but can totaly be friends and even get married.... we'll start with spiting up on each other :) we took this picture at gina's first shower last weekend. her belly does appear a little bigger than mine, even though i'm ahead of her, hmmm... maybe carly is just petite, or maybe cause i'm in black, or maybe where my hands are gives an illusion - either way, let's hope in a year from now, we can take the pic with no belly on either of us!

Showers for Carly

and lots of baby wash! i had a few showers this past weekend. the first was from my small group and a couple of friends. the theme became baby wash. i racked up 11 bottles of it, i guess you need the soap for the shower.... so, i got some one of a kind baby clothes. marta (hostess) got some plain onesies, bibs, burp clothes, etc and iron-ons, and my firends made carly some stuff that morning. we had a great time and carly got a lot of great stuff. we had the shower around our montly brunch, and even though there is no picture of the food, you can believe that we threw down!
here's the clothes line of stuff to be ironed-on to. you can see the beginnigs of the church of crass line of baby clothesand we measured my belly... as of saturday morning, i was 11 toilet paper squares around!my diaper cake - if you aren't familiar... it's actually rolled up diapers - totally cute and practical. i just unroll the diapers and can use them.

so, this one says "little sister" and there's a little girl with orange pig tails - cute huh? cause carly could very well have the same look going on.so, i said there were no food pics, well the sausage balls came in a little late, so i held them for the group - they were a great after brunch snack. you can see more pics of the shower on marta's blog.

and then the next day, another shower, and only 4 more bottles of baby wash!

Here's my stroller... almost. i thought it was, but nathan got it put together and then we realized that the front wheel is stationary - not what i need. so, it's on its way back to ny, and i'll have one in a couple weeks with a moving front wheel.

here's another little red-headed sister onesie, i guess i wasn't the only one who thought that may look like carlyand this was for fav aunt karen whose comments leading up to the shower compelled this picture. but really, what you see in my lap here are some stinkin cute little girl clothes this is my mom, who toted me and my gifts around this weekend, thanks nana!

thank you to all our friends and family who contributed to the piles of baby stuff now stacked in carly's room. we are truly blessed to have such loving and generous people in our lives.

I love tp

...that is tracy, not toilet paper, however, i'm also a fan of toilet paper
